definitely death note. it's so dark and disturbing and the story is just amazing. the characters are really likable too (except light, of course). it's just like, the perfect combination of psychological thriller and dark humor...and i can't stress this enough, the story is just SO good and SO compelling, i can't take my eyes of the screen whenever i'm watching it! i also really like attack on titan and fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood as well...they're both such amazing anime with super complex plots and incredible characters
